Prof Paul Davenport

Paul Davenport is the founding Chair of the UR Board.

He has a BA from Stanford University (With Great Distinction, Phi Beta Kappa) and a PhD from the University of Toronto.

He taught economics for 16 years at McGill University (1973-89) and then served as President of the University of Alberta (1989-94) and the Western University (1994-2009) in London, Ontario.

He is a member of the Order of Canada and the French Legion of Honor.

He has been involved with Rwanda since 2004 and is a member of President Kagame’s Advisory Council.
