For the third consecutive year, Huye Campus hosted the Career Summit Edition, a flagship event designed to connect students, graduates, academia, industry, and development partners. The summit serves as a platform to prepare Rwanda’s young talent for a dynamic and competitive world of work, equipping them with the skills, mindset, and networks necessary to thrive in a rapidly evolving labor market.

Students turned up in large numbers
Building on the success of previous editions, the 2025 Career Summit emphasized employability, innovation, and practical career readiness. The event brought together employers, professional bodies, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and career development experts to engage directly with students.
Opening the summit, Dr. Raymond Ndikumana, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Strategic Planning and Administration, reaffirmed that higher education must prepare graduates not only academically but also for leadership, service, and national development.

“The University is a place where the next generation is prepared to serve, lead, and transform communities through innovative solutions,” Dr. Ndikumana said, encouraging students to remain proactive, adaptable, and purpose-driven as they navigate their career journeys.
The summit featured panel discussions, career talks, exhibitions, and mentorship sessions. Students gained insights into current labor market trends, emerging skills, and pathways for career growth and entrepreneurship. They also had opportunities to interact with employers, showcase their talents, ask critical questions, and build networks that extend beyond the classroom.
During the event, the University signed partnership agreements with multiple institutions to advance innovation and creativity while nurturing graduates capable of thriving in society. These collaborations aim to provide mentorship, internship placements, and research opportunities that strengthen students’ career readiness.
