Personal Statement: 
Dr. Idrissa Kayijuka holds a Ph.D. in applied mathematics from Ege University, Department of Mathematics, and the School of Natural and Applied Sciences in Izmir, Turkey. Since 2022, he has served as the Head of the Department of Applied Statistics at the School of Economics, University of Rwanda. His research interests encompass Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Data Science, and Applied Statistics. Dr. Kayijuka has supervised over 50 research projects, including undergraduate, master's, and Ph.D. theses, and has published more than ten papers in reputable journals. He is a member of the African Center of Excellence in Data Science Post-Graduate Studies Committee. He serves as the UR-CBE focal person in the University Network for Strengthening Macro-Financial Resilience to Climate and Environmental Change through the World Resources Institute (WRI).
