Programme Description: 

To be admitted into the programme, prospective candidates must have principal passes, at least twenty one (21) points in the following subjects: Mathematics and Chemistry or Physics or Computer Science from one of the following subjects combinations:

  • Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics;
  •  Mathematics, Physics and Geography;
  • Mathematics, Physics and Computer Science;
  • Mathematics, Chemistry and Biology or equivalent.

In any case it is expected that because of the nature of the program, entrance requirements will likely favor students who have excelled in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics.

  • Design mine sites and oversee mine operations
  • Make mine risk assessment and management
  • Ensure the health and safety standards in mines
  • Increase mine production and ensure grade control at all stage of mine operation
  • Assess commercial viability of mining companies
  • Plan and do feasibility study for mining projects
  • Carry out modeling of mines sites
  • Design mine and its operations
  • Oversee and monitor underground activities
  • Establish proper mineral extraction system
  • Provide consultancy services in mining and construction projects
  • Lead mining projects and do budgeting
  • Produce models or plan for mining sites to optimize production
