Dear reader,

It’s a pleasure to welcome you and share with you the highlight about the role of the Students’ Life Experience Office (SLE) at the University of Rwanda. .


This office is a coordination office that oversees all the roles and responsibilities performed by both the Careers and Employability Specialists and Directors of Students’ Welfare in all UR campuses. The office works as a link between the UR administration and the nine campuses of the University. It provides the required information needed by the management for decision making. .

Overall office Responsibilities/services

  • Students’ Life Experience (SLE) office is a coordination office that is located at UR-HQ.
  • It is in charge of coordinating all the activities implemented by both Careers and Employability Specialists and Directors of Students’ Welfare in all UR campuses.
  • In all campuses, there is an office for Career and Employability Specialist (CES). Furthermore, each and every campus has got an office for the Director of Students Welfare (DSW). Both offices for CES and DSW are coordinated by SLE office at the UR-HQ.
  • SLE office works as a link between campuses and UR administration. It oversees what takes place in campuses, communicates to the UR administration for decision making.
  • CES office specifically deals with career guidance and counselling, internship programs, industry mapping, allocation of academic supervisors to interns, industrial placement, coaching students, mentoring students, career day fairs.
  • Ensuring Management of staff performance and evaluation On the other hand, Directors of Students’ Welfare deal with students’ clinics, accommodation, students’ restaurants, bursary loans, game, sports, leisure and cultural activities. In addition, they deal with students’ insurances,
