CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR PHD POSITIONS AND SCHOLARSHIPS IN ATMOSPHERIC AND CLIMATE SCIENCE, ASTROPHYSICS AND SPACE PHYSICS

The University of Rwanda (UR) through Rwanda Astrophysics, Space and Climate Science Research Group (RASCSRG) is pleased to invite interested and qualified candidates to apply for
3 available PhD by research scholarships. The scholarships are in the following areas :
(1) Atmospheric and Climate Science, (2) Astrophysics, and
(3) Space Physics

Successful candidates will register as full-time PhD students at the University of Rwanda- College of Science and Technology (UR-CST) for a period of minimum of three years (six semesters) and maximum of four years (eight semesters) starting in April 2021.

III. Entry requirements

1. Master’s degree with distinction from a reputed University in one of the following subjects : Physics, Atmospheric Physics, Climate sciences, Meteorology, Astrophysics, Cosmology and Space physics.
2. At least one paper (publication) in international peer reviewed journal.
3. Being Rwandan citizens.
4. Age limit : Male candidates must be less than 40 years and 45 for Female (Reference : as
per UR Policy and Procedures for Scholarships Awards-Oct. 2020).

NB :
1. UR academic staff, female candidates and applicants with disabilities are encouraged to
apply.
2. Degree obtained outside Rwanda should obtain equivalence in respect to the Rwanda National Qualification Framework.
