For the third consecutive year, the University of Rwanda held its Career Summit at Huye Campus. Approximately 3,000 students and graduates benefited from invaluable mentorship, insights and work-readiness skills to help them succeed in the job market.

Speaking at the event, Françoise T. Kayitare, the Deputy Vice Chancellor for Finance, encouraged participating students and graduates to make the most of every opportunity the Career Summit offers. She challenged them to demonstrate discipline, adaptability and perseverance to thrive in an increasingly tech-driven job market.

The Career Summit featured inspiring panel discussions with CEOs and Human Resource Managers from notable organizations such as the Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program, BK Foundation, MTN and others. Each speaker addressed essential topics for students’ career growth. The event also welcomed popular musician The Ben, who shared how discipline and resilience contributed to his success, and journalist Scovia Mutesi, who inspired students to seize even the smallest opportunities to excel.

In his welcoming remarks, Principal Dr. Joseph Nkurunziza highlighted the Career Summit as an invaluable opportunity for students to understand employer expectations and engage directly with industry leaders. He emphasized that strong collaboration with industry is essential to unlocking opportunities for young people.

The Career Summit also celebrated a new partnership between the University of Rwanda and BK Foundation.
